What starts as a spark
that we carry with us
makes for dull light
which nevertheless guides the way-

to the knowledge of experience,
the experience of places,
to the places you find the people,
who share their knowledge and experience.

All along the way, the spark grows brighter,
energised by the light of sparks on paths crossed.

Until it becomes a flame
that we carry with us
which provides the clarity
to see the manifold paths-

to the knowledge of experience,
the experience of places,
to the places where the people,
have the brightest of flames.

And from the brightest and warmest of all
bursts a fire from the flame
which at once and like a phoenix
burns to ash-

the knowledge of experience,
the experience of places,
the places where the people,
point only to this moment-

which fuels the raging fire
that we carry within us
and illuminates far past the moment.

manifold paths
This I liked! Makes me wish I'd first heard it spoken, before I imbued it with my own speech patterns.

Reads like a life lived to the fullest. To me, anyway.
