(my answer to the Writing Challenge)

Victoria heard a deep growl that turned into a bloodcurdling scream. In an out-of-body experience, she realized it came from her.

The clouds and mist shifted rapidly revealing a full moon, which shed light on Victoria’s face. She sniffed the air again, smelling the dampness of the trees and the animals around her. She could hear a squirrel scuttle along a fallen log and a car horn honk off in the distance.

Her fingers started to itch. She looked down to see her fingernails grow into long, sharp talons. Dark hair began to sprout quickly on her arms and legs. Her clothes started to feel too tight as her body expanded. Her brain felt like it was going to explode out of her skull. As she twisted and turned, her biceps grew several sizes bigger, splitting her sleeves. Whiskers formed on her face and and tufts on her ears. Reaching behind her, she felt the familiarity of her tail. This wasn’t the first time she metamorphosed but it still caused strange sensations.

Tossing back her head, Victoria howled at the moon. The wolves snarled and bared their teeth and she growled back. The head of the pack approached her and pawed the ground, demonstrating to the others that they had a new leader.

With a renewed thirst for blood and hunger to eat flesh, she pulled on her leather jacket, jumped on her Harley-Davidson, and led them into town to hunt down breakfast.

I'm howling with delight! Wonderful spin on where David began. I think his prompt was really well written and gave us lots of space to take it to another level. Well done and yes you did.

You can't handle the truth!
This is a good one. I like strong women with a little more hair than normal. And Oh God, the muscles. I almost forgot the howling.

I halfway expected Jack Nickolson to show up in full wolf drag. AKA the movie *Wolf* That would make Victoria Michelle Phieffer, I think. I have to go take a walk in the woods now.

Yes you did.

Thanks Charlie! Was the extra hair caused by high testosterone? We may never know...

Sandra's Can You?
First of all, thank you both for the kind words about my scene. It really made me feel good that you guys were inspired by it.

On to Sandra's entry:

My scene from June was meant to be a fantasy scene and you surprised me by turning it into a scene based firmly in the real world. Now, I've intended to write in the real world and you took me by the neck and dragged me back into fantasy. I loved it. You constantly surprise me with your vivid imagination and unique writing style.

Did she? Yes she did!

Thanks for playing along; you will be featured in the next Musings article in Majestic.

Much Love,
