We make history every day
With all of the things we do and don’t say
Through all of the challenges left undone
Falling to our young when we’ve had our fun

People now gather round
Look at the beasts we crowned
Look at the future to which they’ll leave us bound

People now raise your eyes
Welcome the troubled skies
Welcome the time and place when we all arise

And the rulers in their final days
With all of the madness of their ways
Will their gathering forces heed command
Or turn on their masters at the final stand

People now search your soul
Where lies the righteous goal
Know that a tyrant falls if we take control

People now rise and burn
Making the pages turn
Driving the beasts to the place of no return

And the people in their brand new day
With all of the lessons come their way
Through all the revolutions of the ages past
May they pray to their maker that the lessons last

People now reach for more
Open the final door
Into a world where the tyrants cannot roar

People now forge ahead
Learn from the past you’ve shed
Be sure your leaders follow you instead

Have to agree
Like Jessica has already said this is a strong piece and definately has a lyrical quality. There are some interesting new twists to old topics and all in all this is very strong work. There are a few pieces where I feel the lines get to long in relation the ones preceding but the is likely only a matter of personal taste. Keep up the good work.

strong indeed
Strong indeed, it even reminds me something... it must be very personal, isn't it? And, well, it's hard to disagree with the last stanza. As for me, style is beyond reproach.
