(last February I gave birth to twin boys)

morning birds bestirred,
new light beguiles twins\' whimpers
to vie for a breast

Good things wait for those who know what they are doing

boob men
Lucky twins. I just flashed back to last night's SNL with Elton John hosting. He commented how his newborn son - who is being raised by gay men - refuses the breast.

Like the first line.

Lactating. Sailing.
well, am I glad you like writing with dashes!

I am of that generation or background that doesn't get SNL, and most of TV and movies too. Learning from Elton's experience - I'd say the babies have the best appetite - because both of their parents love women, and their mothers loves steak. Every Tues. my husband throws a party for our families - where I get to have real roast beef and things.

I always take a picture of the meat main dish for my blog. Meat is crucial - the more meat, the more milk I produce, the more they nurse the yummier libido and more ecstatic squirting of milk . Once their mother is satiated, she gets a real bon appetite for the said MEAT!
what a delicious cycle!

So I wonder - who gets to eat real meat in Elton's circles. They all could be vegan and vegetarian bohemians who sleep in late, - which goes against milk production. He does have a song that should remind him to wake up early, something like "sun shine down on me."

I hope your avatar is not that of the Nirvana guy RIP? I want to believe it is a real Italian. Because...some time ago my penchant for the Mediterranean look had inspired Sammie Teflon to write Red Sails, which I know by heart - it is my inner world, my images - it is me in the story - ! - here it is

No. Shotguns and I are not friends. The avatar's all me. And I'm more Sea of Cortez than Mediterranean. I say more because I was born in Mexico.

massage. escape. euphoria
I really try, with all my gymnastic skills - I work out 3 times a week and have post-partum physiotherapy and massage - to nurse them together - in a parallel cradle position of my own invention, I think.

I really pains my heart to see one at breast and the other one squirming in impatience, and a bottle of my milk is not exactly what he wants.

But many times I succeed in simultaneous feeding, and that for me is an ultimate sacred unquestionable escapist euphoria of maternity.

since 2004 or so i have never seen anything written about breastfeeding or joys of motherhood.

how could I have missed this one? it is so sad that there are only few brave commenters willing to break the site's unspoken rule of butter up the grandmas first!

Young fertile mothers really should not waste their precious creativity and personal time just to get a pathetic comment from one of the Golden Girls.
