briny beached puddle
an unfolding universe
awaiting high tide

scuttling hermit crab
harbouring resentment
amongst the flotsam

amorous oysters
aphrodisiac slides by
quiet gooey duck

without a sextant
a starfish glides pointlessly
navigating dunes

miniscule mussels
shimmering with mystery
cloaked in oil slickers

brave barnacle
choosing a humble abode
with tenacity

lost with no anchor
a starfish fell from the sky
to provide guidance

fireworks in footprints
ignited by moonlight glints
phospherous sparkles

seed pearls from mother
shifting sands through wisdom
spawning opulence

Fish Chronicals
Hi Pen...this sounds like the beginning of a Marine version of Zodiac Zoo!

I wonder if fish have an astrological history also? Sounds like a project!!

Are you game??

A beach
oh the complexities of oceanic society. I tell you those gooey ducks are nothing but trouble!
Fun piece, I really enjoyed this one.

thanks to five & Bob
These were quite a pleasant diversion way back when I wrote them. So many childhood memories from beaches .. exploring .. all those cool microcosms ... tiny universes .. vexed crabs foaming at the mouth .. what a fabulous playground!

Not likely to morph these into a collection Bea .. it's just one of those breaks I take every so often when I need a refresher course on beaches.

Life's a beach .. then the tide comes in. :-)
