God-light staves
fulgent

swords sheen
reposed

softened hands
emend souls
against
hearts dying
light

roads walked
while half-uttered prayers
make their way through
cosmos

the angel peers
noticing wounds

my faith
battles
fathom-eyed
while sin abounds

days yet to
rout

earth yet to
tread

death yet
to conquer

pier/peer?
There I go again .. myopic focus on one itty bitty word because it distracted me.

goes back to top ... begins again

Summed up quite nicely.

Whoosh....
Pen,

Noted (shame on me). This will definitely be corrected. Humbly noted. Thank you.

"Editing is my best friend"- my mantra for the rest of the weekend- or until it sticks!

Thank you both!

I remain close.

Conquered
I don't always like following Lucie's comments because I just sound dumb.

Someone's been perfecting minimalism. To good effect, too! Like waking to a brand new day, hope intact. I just commented on a spiritual poem and now come to this one. But no complaints because I highly enjoyed it.

BTW, what do you mean by "I remain close?"

@Toscano
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

To remain close, to me, is like extending an invitation or rather, asking for any help that someone would be kind enough to give. There are many here at Lit.org that have much to offer and for someone who is uneducated, like myself, I really don't have the room to think that I can post so-called poetry and not expect to receive criticism and or a helping/guiding hand. Therefore I encourage it as it is a means of gaining as well as getting to know others out there that share the same passion for word-slinging.

I have no formal education to speak of. That said, its like receiving a free education. And while there are those kind enough to 'help' me develop my craft...I'm not going anywhere.

Annotating is welcomed- I actually listen. I do prefer PM's, however I take what I can get.

Thanks again and as always... I remain close.

@Luice
The battle of the human condition (imperfection)is at times insurmountable. What was it one of the bible writes said (forgive me for not knowing the quote well enough to quote exactly), "When ever I want was is good, bad or evil is present." -something to that effect.

This weighs heavily on me.

Your comment is encouraging; you get it, and for that, thank you!
