She spread through your mind
like the chaos of Cairo backstreets.
And on this day
you have seen that girl,
and you stop your red Vespa at the red light
for her to cross.

You know who she is,
In her tight jean cutoffs,
Western Wear designer jeans,
designed to change the world.
and her near waist yellow T
revealing all of the woman she has become.

You know who she is,
she is your Messenger
and you will never see her again.
But you get her Message
and it is Holy

All you could do is watch her
and her girlfriend cross the street in front of you.
But you never even saw her girlfriend
you only knew she was also there.

She knew.
But did she ever know you had your eyes on her?
When they reached the curb, the girls both paused,
and she threw you a backward, over the shoulder smile.
Yes, she knew all about you.

And suddenly you realized,
the virgins in Paradise would have to wait.
Frantically, hopefully, willingly,
you rejected all of the brainwashing
you had been going through for months,
and you looked for a trash depositry
to drop your back pack in.

Ridden of your monstrously heavy load on your back,
you turned,
and she was gone.

Suddenly the revolution is ended.

full of imagery
this is a great read .. well paced .. carries through with the thought process and how a moment in time has a lasting impact because of the emotions captured ..

Westernising VeeBdosa...
Interesting tale with a sting. That a suicide bomber could be swept away from his task by the beauty that life offers is a thought that crosses my mind from time to time when I wonder at what can drive a soul to this... and more importantly, what would drive them away.

Other that the slightly spooky avater (Claire of old springs to mind - if you know any of Lit's past) it is wonderful to be discovering voices new and thoughts shared.

I thought it was very good until I read the date affixed at the bottom, whereby the revolution ended November 28, 2011

Good becomes chilling........

Excellent read.....if only it were so easy to convince a would be suicide bomber.....I'm left wondering if he'd go back for his pack after realizing the girl will never be his?
