searching
she is nowhere
to be found-

contretemps
fires

ink is drying

my pen
grows weak
days now

words desiccate
gambol lost

fading starlight
realizes burning
distance

her diamond wings
at my fingers
ceases to grow

in fathoms
of lost
she soars

patiently
I wait
dying
unlettered

no sign
of her love

her journey
long
suspending
me in wait

"Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead." Charles Bukowski

Bobby
Thank you stopping by. It means a lot- more than you realize. Lets welcome a new day, a new year with the gusto of endurance. Thank you my friend!

Abel,
I haven't spent much time here the past couple years, compared to back in 2004-06. I'm sure the vibrant activity at Facebook, as well as editing of a book and other ventures, has much to do with that. Having said that, it's good to find new members, such as yourself, willing to experiment, stretch and grow as writer.

Happy New Year
Salute,
BobbyG

@Abel
First of all, I love the Bukowski quote in your signature!

Second of all, great work here. As I was telling Bobby earlier, I love poems like this. Simple and beautiful.

Love it,

Dave

Bobby and Dave
Bobby, I hope you're visits become even more frequent to the site. I say that selfishly as I need all the help I can get!! But really, I truly enjoy your work; a virtual classroom of sorts, here at lit.

Dave, For taking the time and stopping by, a million thanks. As said elsewhere, I look forward to more of your goodies. I know form your work, that all of your heart and soul goes into what you write. The Terrance Malick of writing- quality not quanitity- I love it!

Again, thanks to you all. You offer the needed criticism and love that I need to remain encouraged to keep trying to 'work it out.'

My love to you all.

Wet Strokes
One must wet their pen
to write of Love...
to stroke those words of passion
