Pain is simple
Misery is complex
My brain robs me of sleep
My fingers cannot be still

The night carries on
Yet still I sit
Hopelessly plowing forward
An umbrella underneath a waterfall

No one is awake
Dreaming eloquent dreams
Everyone but me
I lack the sense

Pain is simple
Misery is complex
But my muse
Is worse than my wife

I really just wrote this out of the blue. I don't have as large of a vocabulary as some of my fellow writers, and I am no poet, so feel free to offer suggestions.

Thanks Ken! Your opinion is always welcome and since you rated it a 10 without offering suggestions I might just be getting better! I am slightly proud of this one. Now off to catch up on NaNoWriMo!

Wait a sec!
I don't know why I thought of Ken when I saw your name John doe. NaNoWriMo has been messing with my brain. Anyway, sorry! I definitely appreciate the high rating :)

Ha ha, yeh Muses are like Greek gods, they love playing jokes on humans, and they do it allah time. By the way, it is a Sin to NOT capatolize the word Muse. The Greek gods do not care, but if you forget to cap Muse, you are in deep doo=doo.

Very captivating poem here.

Hah! Well I'll apologize to my Muse. I certainly did not know that! Thanks for the compliments. You two and Ivor are the real poetry masters so I am glad you found it worth the read.

I was really on top of it the night I wrote it. I was ahead of NaNoWriMo but I spent the weekend hanging out with a friend so I got left behind a bit. I hope to catch up Monday afternoon or so. Thanks again for the kind words!
