Happy Retirement Ivor!

Look forward to retirement
It isn't so bad
There’s really no reason
For feeling sad
There's a lot of life
Down the road ahead
And new poems to write
Before you’re dead

You may start losing
A little more hair
A few more wrinkles
That weren't there
Your teeth may be starting
To lose their bite
You may even store them
In a glass at night

But Ivor the man
Will still be the same
A ferocious warrior in life's
Little game
Life isn't about these
Little things
It's all about love
And the glow it brings

Good family, Good health
Some really good friends
And memories you'll cherish
Before this life ends
So don't despair
And give up and fold
Enjoy your retirement
You’ll never grow old!

Happy Retirement Ivor
Ivor is lucky to be reminded in such a grand way that life is not just for the young in years, Life is to be lived with gusto as every day is a gift as is this fine write.

Thaks Kelly...It's not over till it's in the meantime, live life as if you are just starting out. Nothings changed but you know the score now, so there are no surprises down the road.

Besides...growing older is better than the alternative!!!!

Loved this, Bea! You always excel at rhyme. Me, I still have another thirty plus year before I can retire - unless I kick the bucket before that happens.

Thanks Francisco!
Hi Francisco...I wish I had the gift of prose that you have...rhyme just keeps popping in my head, even when I don't want it to!!!

That's why I love jousting with Ivor...we are soul mates in rhyme!!
