I have been approached by an individual offering to buy rights to my blog. I have a personal diary type of a blog, covering candid personal and intimate life. The individual says that he is a ghost writer and this is how he does research.

What would "rights" to the blog entail? What are the implications? I don't want to ask this individual questions like this in order not to lose my negotiation leverage. I want to keep writing the blog, since it is a natural progression from years of the real diary I have written in notebooks. Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Selling A Blog
I have never heard of this - the real question is what is being bought. I suppose you have to determine what rights you are selling. If your blog has a great deal of hits because of who reads you - then why remove the thing that makes the blog. I don't understand this. Let us know how this unfolds.

storyline
he is interested in the storyline, and in my narrative of growing from a young naive wife to a happy divorcee that eventually gets remarried. I will keep updating on this offer. I want to know is in what way I will be limited once the rights to a specific time period of the blog are sold.

huh!
I'm impressed by the person's ethics quite frankly. An idea? It would be simple just to hijack it and go off on a tangent without any credit given. I figure the person wants to buy it because he wants to use the details you've revealed. I'd certainly ask him about the particulars because - IMO - he's already shown interest.

Google. Copyright, Shield.
that individual represents a company. They want to generate something else, but they have no choice because it will be easily searchable. Dieu merci! - for Google.
