Do you believe in ghosts? There are two in my
basement. One of them was very wealthy and
once owned this old mansion. His name is Grover
and he is afraid to leave the basement. It is
where he bacame a ghost and he doesn't remember
anything before the ax.

He didn't know a girl
could handle an ax that way, until his cousin
Claudia lured him into the basement, saying he
could have anything he wanted.

Well, she
wasn't really his cousin, but she was his
uncles adopted daughter and had blond hair and
blue eyes. He had loved her forever. He played
the violin and she the piano, and he fell deeper
in love with her every time they played

One day she stopped playing right in
the middle of their duet and said, "Grover,
let's go to the basement, you can have anything
you want from me."

It was his dream come true!
When she said "anything" that way he would have
done anything for her. Then they got in the
basement and she picked up the ax. "Are you sure
my daddy's in your will?" she demanded. She had
a funny gleam in her eye.

Suddenly he forgot
about sex. "Uhhh, no he's not, yet..." Grover
said, "but I'll be sure and mention him in my
will when I do it next week."

"You're lying!" she
screamed. "Daddy is in your will!" That's when
she showed him how she could handle the ax.
Then he bacame a ghost and still lives in the

Claudia fell on the ax trying to climb
the old wooden stairway, and died the same day.
She lives in the basement, too. Grover sleeps
behind the furnace in the coal room and Claudia
stays in the storage room across the basement.

Grover calls on her every night, and gets
whatever he wants. I can hear them in the wee
hours of the morning, six or eight times...she
sure is a happy ghost. boo!
