I sit and wonder, happily,
At what angelic soul or might
Gave light and breath to thee.
I will not go without a fight
To hold thy features in my heart;
So shall it be,
Until we part,
Just hold your light and you will see;
But since the time we last have spoken,
My heart has changed, perhaps yours too.
I've met someone, my heart is taken,
How unfortunate for you.
You had your chance, past love,
But you, no longer, are my dove.
