(Written For Horatio)

A kitten forever
Is my Siamese,
You demand my attention
And do as you please.

Itís lucky I love you
My white ball of fur,
You lick and you cuddle
And constantly purr.

Youíre a bundle of mischief
My precious feline,
A silent observer
Whatís on your mind?

You wait at the window
Until I come home,
With you in my arms
Iím never alone.

With a patter of feet
You run quick to see,
Whoís at the door
And turning the key.

I canít pick you up
ĎLess you want to be,
And when I am busy
Youíre there on my knee.

You clean off my face
With a rough little tongue,
Singing a song
Thatís never been sung.

With claws safely sheathed
You pat at my face,
Two seconds later
Youíre running a race.

I know that Iím loved
When you lie at my feet,
To be owned by a cat
Is really quite neat!

To say what I want
In this little poem,
A cat in my house
Makes this house a home.
