Old Age

Living life at an old age,
On the verge of becoming a sage,
No longer have to earn a living wage,
As an underpaid hostage,
No longer have to act my age,
No longer want to be on the front page,
Sure like living offstage,
No longer need a socially ingratiating self-image,
Just might choose to go on a rampage,
And fight for peace, love, justice, and womenís suffrage,
Can appreciate the winterset of Fallís fallen foliage,
Lifeís ups an downs slip-sliding awayage,
But now that Iím in lifeís final stage,
I thank God for having had such a fine voyage,
A pleasantly pleasing pilgrimage,
From the beginning of life to an old age.

Cool Doc!
Fine voyage indeed! The Preacher said to everything there is a season and we are just in the Fall of our years my friend.
Nice job!

Very clever. I remember reading a lot of your work in 2005.

Each of you, thanks for reading my poem and for your nice comments. And windchime, thanks for your suggestions for improvement! And FelicaStone to know that you were reading my stuff as far back as 2005. Thanks once again!
