The end of time's here taking you away
I'm the root of all binding fears
The stratum fueling your rain of pain
Bringing your blackened death filled tears

Hear me, see my claim
Touch me, feel your shame
Devoted to
my murderous chains

Feel the slither of despair
All the pain you must bear
Grovel to your burning chair
To a pain beyond compare
Obey your pastor of disaster

I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of destruction
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of corruption
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of your consumption

There's no rhyme no reason only treason
A never ending claim of rain
Misery is the game for all your days
Bringing you only endless pain

Hear me, see my claim
Touch me, feel your shame
Devoted to
my murderous chains

Feel the slither of despair
All the pain you must bear
Grovel to your burning chair
To a pain beyond compare
Obey your pastor of disaster

I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of destruction
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of corruption
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of your consumption

Pins and needles of betrayal take your days
Darkness becomes even clearer
Agony is your only friend
Feasting on the pulverized mirror

Hear me, see my claim
Touch me, feel your shame
Devoted to
my murderous chains

Feel the slither of despair
All the pain you must bear
Grovel to your burning chair
To a pain beyond compare
Obey your pastor of disaster

I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of destruction
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of corruption
I'm the master, master, master
I'm the master of your consumption

"your pastor of disaster"
dark and dramatic with some stellar lines in this, particularly like “grovel to your burning church”, and “pastor of disaster” is wickedly well rhymed…

I have only one infinitesimal criticism of this one, and that is perhaps the over-use of the word “pain”. the deliberate repetition of the “pastor of disaster” works well and it’s good in there, but I think having it twice in the stanzas as well, weakens that effect, if you see what I mean…

that really is only a nit-pick, though. I enjoyed this immensely. a favourite of mine now, I think.

MASTER OF DESTRUCTION
Thank you very much Shannon.... I caught the over use of pain after I posted this. I've already addressed this I merely haven't re-posted it.I'm not sure about what you mean on the the "pastor of disaster" being used twice in one stanza. Please explain as I think I'm being a bit blind here and I simply can't see it....I am just having my coffee so my brain hasn't completely kicked in yet......This stanza is a pre-chorus and that's why it's repeated later on again.

The venue/genre on this piece is Heavy Metal. The music for this piece and a number of others will be written soon. Anyway, hopefully there will be something to hear in the near future on a number of my pieces.....

Again thank you so very much for your assessment and critique. I truly appreciate your advice in every respect. I'll address the pastor thing once I either figure where it is or please point it out to me. I do apologize for being a bit dense here. Maybe I'll figure it out as soon I finish up my cup of coffee here...

Fondly,
Miriam

it's not you, it's me.
sorry Miriam, it is not your under-caffeinated brain that has gone astray, it is my over- caffeinated one. I meant to say that the stanza is repeated and that the use of “pain” in that stanza worked, not that the “pastor of disaster lines” were repeated within each stanza. apologies for the confusion. sometimes my fingers can’t keep up with my brain… or is that the other way around?

recording -MASTER OF DESTRUCTION

Below is a link to a rendition of this piece by my friend, musician Marco Droetto. I was a bit surprised when he sent me an e-mail informing me he had written music and made a recording of the piece. The lyric is not performed in its entirety as written but is rather Marco's rendition or version of my piece.
