Delicate man-
but with thick skin
for the woman he loves-
nestles his feelings for
all that is sound.

Unappreciative woman,
carries him with the jealousy
brought about in her
in a third world fashion-

lost and ignorant
never truly knowing his love.

They toil about,
inconsistent in life,
without friends,
without goals,
no aim.

Always on the beaten path-
she with vice words,
thick with thorny steel tips,
meant to cut,
meant to assign death.

But he never dies-
each time reviving himself,
barely reaching out-

usually its my hand he
reaches for.

Still,
I love them both despite
her flavor,
despite his weakness
to stand tall.

incisive and observant as the best of yours are. great descriptive, a wonderfully visual poem…

I think my favourite thing about it though, is the way in which your penetrative gaze is tempered by affection. brilliant. thanks for sharing.

My friend
One of my favorites. You have a keen observational eye and adroit at putting what is 'scene' to paper...very nice! Your work continually astonishes me!
