With a mighty roar
The earth trembles and explodes
Devastation reigns!

Helpless people run
But there is nowhere to hide
Concrete tombs their fate!

It hurts
Short but brilliant. Telling and full of pain. Thank you.

tried to write something on Haiti but words failed me... at such times all our old gestures seem to fail us.

you capture the essence of the tragedy as well as any of us could ever hope to. a devastating force of nature, a stark, elemental haiku.

Haiti's destruction!
Thanks Pablo...wondering if this is just a preview of something more sinister (apocolypse Perhaps??)

We're due!

Thanks Shannon!
No matter how many words we use to try to describe this desvastation...nothng could do it justice.

A Haiku seemed the definitive way to go with this...stark, simple hyperpole needed!

God bless the people of Haiti!

I'd lose the exclamations..and the "(Double Haiku)" disclaimer..but that's just me..

Prayers aside..
Cash to the Red Cross and UNICEF.

It hurts to watch the images of devastation and endless suffering of people on TV. I too composed a couple of haiku but the actual suffering is much more.
