As I moved
raking autumn
into rustling bonfires,
robins flew
from fence
to tree
and back,
worrying me
for disturbed worms
and reminding
October to dress in fur.

Neat, slab paths,
coloured by shadows.
A light fresh wind
quickly ran a finger
through my once
dark hair,
while above,
it conjured
and conducted
whispering music,
from silver Popular leaves
that turned and danced
like dervishes
in a white,
then green
velvet gown.

And I,
finished now,
locked the garden
and waited….

for the first
covering of snow.

Elegant!
You know I love poetry about nature in any form.
This was an elegant homage...well done!

disturbed worms
I loved:
"raking autumn
into rustling bonfires,"
It pulled me right in to the scene.
Now, I have to go pour a cup of coffee to warm up.
(I don't own a fur.)
