The muse, the muse is so confused
Inside a rue of pointless clues
The blatant lies of endless blues
Truth's forgotten and so misused
Where blind ties have left all so bruised
To snooze, fuse and cruise pointless views
When filled by blackened barren hues
Just blew your fuse abused and boozed
But, time will mend this little trend
As it wakes from the slumbers cast
And brings you new tests to transcend
The New Year's here for all at last
Toss aside the old fast and hard
And play nice in your prison yard
Give up treason; tis the season
Let joy be your truth and reason

Muse
After fusing the blues and musing the blown fuse, I could not tell what this poem could use.
You didn't rhyme all the time and not every line, but who wants to whine when Christmas was so fine!

THE MUSE
You are so funny.....And yes it is still Christmas as far as I'm concerned so the need be no fuss... As for the rhyme I didn't want it to rhyme every time made it into a pattern ABBAABBACDCDEEFF

I changed the end instead of going for a CDECDEFF that a Petrarchan uses as this isn't a sonnet but I use the.

Hope you had a grand Christmas.

Fondly,
Miriam

Like this one! No idea why it made me think of Lonnie Donigan's 'Singing the Blues'

With apologise to you and Lonnie...

I never felt more like writing the blues
But I never thought that I'd ever lose,
my clue's muse.
You got me feeling misused.
It's the season for treason so I see no reason
for blues muse.
You got me feelin' confused.

I'll snooze and cruise my pointless views
even when abused and bruised.
So muse if you have blown your fuse
The only thing for me to do
is still trancend my tests with you
You got me writing the blues muse
you got me writing the blues......

Happy New Year

Muses' Blue's
Thank you...I love that....Weird too...I never heard it or I can't remember ever hearing it.. Was it ever used in a movie or something??? I just added the word "cruise" yesterday too because when I read it it was missing a beat for some reason to it too.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that your New year is brilliant....

Miriam

Guy Mitchell NOT Lonnie
Miriam,

Sorry, my memory is going! It was of course Guy Mitchell who brought this out in 1956. No idea why I atributed it to Lonnie Donigan.

Link to this brilliant American 50's star:

All the best for the New Year,
