Like cigarettes we were dragged down
Like old porch lamps we were burnt out
Like old habits we broke hard
We broke each other's own heart
Like dirty eyes, so hard to touch
Guess mending scars is too much

So photo albums line my shelves
Of years ago when we would tell
How much we loved each other
How much we loved each other

May those clay man never melt into mud
May those sandcastles fight off the dawn
May the wind and sand never corrupt
Those nights we spent on top of the world
We wished the sun for once would never rise
We wished the finer people could always survive
May nothing change, nothing divide
The time we spent on top of the world
Those nights

Like childhood toys we're forgotten
Tucked away in cardboard boxes
Like dust caught in the whirlwind
We lost all of our innocence

So photo albums line my walls
Of years ago when we would fall
Fall for one another
Fall for one another

May those clay man never melt into mud
May those sandcastles fight off the dawn
May the wind and sand never corrupt
Those nights we spent on top of the world
We wished the sun for once would never rise
We wished the finer people could always survive
May nothing change, nothing divide
The time we spent on top of the world
Those nights

Rain, I remember like you're laugh
Pitter patter on the house that we once had
Back in that summer
Drained, I remember like yesterday
Snow White, when you said you would leave
Back in that summer, I fell asleep forever
I'm waiting here forever

May those clay man never melt into mud
May those sandcastles fight off the dawn
May the wind and sand never corrupt
Those nights we spent on top of the world
We wished the sun for once would never rise
We wished the finer people could always survive
May nothing change, nothing divide
The time we spent on top of the world
Those nights

Another good one! I liked the three 'may those...' starts - nice hook. How about one for the Song Challenge?
