It was like a stab
A Stab in the heart
and the blood was tears

The deeper the wound, the younger the years

And the love that shone in my being like the sun
Left my chest like a bullet from a shotgun
It tore away my love, my hope
and left me crashing down a dark and rocky slope

It seems for every arrow cupid shoots, with it attaches pain
and like the slow maddening poison
that slithered in my veins
It rapes the heart, and grinds it to the pulp
As i cried and trembled through the whims and gulps

I asked why god did you send me into his arms
For a momment's joy came eternal harm
Like the wild duck who takes to flight
Thinking he's heard his loved one's cry
Only to find the hunter's sport meant his last sunrise

Like fallen angles, their bodies to the mother lake
that year by year their bodies takes
The past becomes silent and hallowed
And the heart, like the lake
Each year

Grows shallow and shallow

Sadly sweet. Love's lament. Nice one this.
