They always said if my heart was in the right place
Things would always work out, why do they never work out?
They always told me the truth was in my face
I curled my lip in anger, they thought they were in danger
They always preached good will toward one another
Then why was I left behind, with nothing but the thoughts inside my mind
They pretended to care with words while wielding there swords
And the stab left a scar, reminding me just who they are

I bought into their system
I followed their own blueprint
I worshipped their religion
Until my will once spent
I thought I'd always fit 'em
Until I realized what they meant
Their courtship became my rebellion
Here they are, and there I went

Why couldn't their shelter have been a glass house
I think it could have worked, I prayed it would have worked out
They've become lions while I'm meager as the mouse
Won't see me pulling thorns, while they keep growing horns

Thank you, Jesus
Lord, to be truthful, my nipples began to react positively at first but how can any mortal man now Your Ways. You have always been a mystery, Jesus. Why put things in black and white for us now. A brother of mine told me recently that he felt this existence was gray most of the time. I tend to agree with him. Amen.

Thank you, Jesus.

Nice! What genre do you see this. I can hear it as a heavy rock piece but I can also hear it as a lament. There is certaimny a sadness in the verse and an anger in the refrain. Maybe both aspects in the final arrangement. Cool - nice job.

...actually it's quite soft and sorrowful through the verse and then I add some happier chords in the chorus as if to say the aquiring of the knowledge is a huge relief. Like being liberated by the truth.
