As logic would have it
As I've always known of and been aware
Nothing is real but what's in front of our eyes
Taught black and white
By a force that's been plucked from the air
It can't be real and still they sell me the lies

Salesmen with their leather-bound books
Demanding I thrown in my ten percent share
For a golden ending as long as I give them their bribes
What's wrong and right?
I'm feeling worse every time I leave there
It's wrong to steal, get fat, f***, love my money and pride

Where is my Jesus? Where's the spirit inside me?
What does it feel like? Somebody please tell me
I've tried and I've tried to feel and it almost killed me
As long as we have each other, that's good enough for me

So take all your leather bound books
Your robes and your insence and valuable lessons
Free will is nothing but everything that we are
Keep living as crooks
And leave the people who follow you guessing
I'll be okay, even without your blessing

Where is my Jesus? When did he go away?
Forsaking the one believing in Him every day
How can it please us, to tiptoe around every day
It's taking us and bleeding us, while we continue to pray

------
The Red Headed Jesus
