Devouring that fifth lap
suddenly raced in a thought
My shoulders were so heavy
with some unbearable load

I strived to just go on
I felt you were watching
I knew it won't be long
before I failed in matching

Despite your angry look
In the middle of the race I flopped
The crowd, did they fall silent
Or maybe the hearing stopped

I watched ... as the runners passed me by
slowing down ... to near standstill

I'm curious -- what inspired this poem? Did you run track when you were younger?

The Race
Hello Ochani !

No. I never ran in that kind of race.

But we all run in the eternal daily grind race, don't we?
