Sunshine-
Standing tall!
Four Fine Fellows
from Vawter Hall
Feet in the sand,
Here to play ball
Take on any comers
One and all

Not the biggest or the strongest
That day we were the best!
Our bump, set and spike
Were put to the test
Game after game
Showing spirit and zest
Though the losers could sit down
For the winners: no rest.

Cheers and high-fives
After serving up an ace!
Blocks at the net-
Keeping up the pace
Brief bathroom breaks
Down the hall we'd race
Gulping down water,
Sweat in your face.

Hours later
We still held the court
Like four mighty kings
Without malice or retort
After all,
It's just a sport
Root beer to celebrate:
We drank it by the quart
Then, like a ship weighing anchor
We're on to the next port
An afternoon of volleyball
Had turned college into a beach resort.

Author's Note:
I was at a loss for what title to give this poem and welcome suggestions.
