So time passes, we all grow wiser.
To what end?
We learn pain, sorrow and love.
Only to learn it all ends.
Are we being tested?
That would mean a higher power.
At days end, its always just you.
When your hanging by a thread,
Its your life that flashes by.
Each sound, each precious vision
is a story to remember.
And each a life time of pain.
Such sweet memories of my youth.
The girls I chased, The loves I had.
The bitter of growing apart.
Loosing loved ones to miles,
To time, and to death.
Each great thing, each great moment,
always comes to an end.
Some prevailing power?
Some pre-destined plan?
Some grand understanding?
It never comes. Age teaches.
Teaches us to deal with it.
Teaches us to handle it.
But it never prepares you,
for its coming.
The Pain Ends, The sorrow
Fades, Even happiness wanes.
Till one day is all flashing,
flashing before your eyes.
You lament and move on.
You struggle and fight.
But this strength, for what?
To push forward through it all.
To make it to what? The end?
Yes, I suppose thats it.
As all things must end,
we must survive to see our own.
And too watch our cared for,
care for us as we pass.
Watch them experience the pain
we've tried to prepare them for.
Its never enough, but at least it ends.

re: WOW!
Thanks, I think. I don't remember writing this one at all. I always like reading ones I don't remember writing. When I read them, at first I'm always like, Who wrote that. When I realize it was me, I'm like, whoah, I'm kinda good!

If you haven't yet, read my short story, I dreamed I died. Pretty good, If I do say so myself.
