I was watching Obama on my laptop in a cafe.

It was surreal.

An intelligent president at last.

a supple one....

a really cool and calm guy.

What an incredible adventure the world was about to have.

Suddenly---I heard the N Judah train roaring.....

Tina if you read my latest essay on Obama. I feel he has a fifty-fifty chance of making it....the essay was published right after this poem.

Still I don't think I will ever see the day of seeing someone like Obama ever elected to any high position in the UK or Europe.

I think the problems Obama is facing would tax any person which I will proceed to explain in my next post.

He is still a Down and Dirty politician. i hope all the promises in is campaign will be achieved and not forgotten about like the other 42 presidents.

Strongly think that he is like a great new car and years later you have regret for buying the car because of the new headaches and stress that is caused by believing a phony marketing campaign.

He is a great salesman. lets hope hes not a used car saleman*

All the best, please find this not to be negative. I am supportive.

Obama is indeed a great salesman. But he has the promise to be a great president too. It's just a hunch....I didn't feel this at all with the last seven presidents....just before they entered office.

Agreed with you. He has a in a way outside approach to politics. None the less look forward to the upcoming years.

May America Prevail and not fall to the desease of domocracy.

I never, never comment on politics here... and don't intend to start now. But your poem made me smile. One ordinary man, hanging out in a cafe, catching the news, hearing a passing train chant out a hackneyed political slogan, making it new. Yeah, that's how stuff happens - life; synesthesia, moments of unplanned hope. Well-encapsulated, gamblerman.
