With the launch of the ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) to replace Incapacity Benefits and Income Support, lots and lots of people are going to find jobs and be ever so happy - honest! OH bloody hell fire - just how stupid do these idiots in government think we are?
It's back to slinging people with disabilities into whatever jobs are available no matter how crappy and we'll be helped by special advisors to guide us into work they wouldn't give to their worst enemies.
Anyway, while we're being covertly accused of scrounging off the state. What about the biggest spongers of the lot that recently received a bung of 50 billion GBP? Our banks have to apply for government assistance to survive, so what? We've had to do that for years, not out of choice might I add.
I had wondered how long it would be before Gordon Brown started in on us. He'd better watch his ass, because if this latest bunch of horse-pats goes the way I'm expecting it to, he might just have to bend over and take it.
Is it my imagination or does each government (US or UK)announcement that everything's going to be fine, cause the markets to get nervous and lose even more percent points? (Today for example, ESA and a brave new dawn ya de ya and so on and the Footsie 100 dropped below 4000 points). Weird innit?
Or maybe not so strange, let's face it, the stock markets are being ruled by fear right now (hmm - new angle for my story?) and a politician looking confident is enough to scare any bugger!
That's it for the minute, I shall pack away my soap-box to be reused at some later date (recycling and being generally environmentally friendly y'see).
Take care
Paul the Ogg
