Every night,
I am engulfed by a never-ending sea

As I fight,
And try to float, it just keeps pulling me

A Dark Presence
Would approach my bed and hovers near

A spiteful essence
Sucks the life out of me, it would appear

.
.
.

All things in my life now
would seem to break apart

Please stay
help me to fight it
reject it, don`t invite it

.
.
.

I have lost so much sleep
my eyes are burning dry

Don`t say
now that you`ll leave me
desert me and disbelieve me

.
.
.

you`re my final straw, dear
without you i can`t be

Please stay
help me to fight it
reject it don`t invite it

.
.
.

Every night,
I am engulfed by a never-ending sea

As I fight,
And try to float, it just keeps pulling me

A Dark Presence
Would approach my bed and hovers near

A spiteful essence
Sucks the life of me it would appear

.
.

waelnawara's Visitor of Darkness....
Ah...such a metaphysical quality to this, reminds me of the out of body state of being in those who have experienced it, also that of what is known as the "Old Hag" which is basically a soul sucker that comes...legend of the old hag goes back centuries, in various cultures too, different name, same thing though. I found a long time ago how to protect myself from such energies, and they no longer can touch me, and the OBEs via the help of a an old friend and expert in this field who wrote some books on the subject (published by the way) helped me via other contacts, Monroe Institute of VA and groups and communities of support groups etc., so the OBEs are within my full control...long story, too long to ramble about on your page about, would sound nuts to those who are not experiencers anyway, so no more talk of all that.... but, getting to your writing again...

Love the subject matter as metaphor or however you meant it...it has a feel to it that I relate to and understand, now what it means to you is a whole other matter. Interpretation of such kind of writing in poetry can be very subjective as in this case, so I will say no more.

Blessings~

dark presence
thanks Lena for sharing and for your kind words ...

describing such experiences are bound to generate that kind of air ... of metaphysical atmosphere ...

such visitations of a dark presence can be quite traumatizing ... chilling ... soul-scaring :)

there is
a confessional quality to this, reminds me of the all-too-human trait of fearing, not only our fears in and of themselves, but of exposing our weaknesses to other, to admitting fear...

that, for me, is what saves this piece from all encompassing darkness, the admission of fear, the asking for a hand to hold. the song might begin by looking in, but it also moves to reaching out. that, I feel, is redemptive. thanks for sharing this.

a confession
thanks a lot for your words of encouragement :)

I must make a confession ... and i do this risking that the ... confessional quality of this piece will be shattered :)

i actually never quite experienced an OBE myself ... but a friend of mine did ... for about a year ... and one day that friend decided to share that experience with me ... for such i am very grateful ... but the description was very intense ... that i found myself writing this piece :)

Thanks a lot for your comments :)
