Psalm 83,suredly, contains a prophecy about end time geopolitics of ten "tabernacles" in the middle east as a sign that Adonai lives. Come," they say, "let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence." See http:www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2083:4;&version=51; .

Today, that prophecy is being fulfilled. Some examples, are as follows: (1) Thursday, October 27,2008, CNN, reports: "Iran's new president has repeated a remark from a former ayatollah that Israel should be "wiped out from the map," insisting that a new series of attacks will destroy the Jewish state," See http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast10/26/ahmadinejad/index.html . (2) "Hamas...Promises to Destroy Israel" See http://www.hyscience.com/archives/2005/08/hamas_proclaims.php .

I love You, Adonai.
Sincerely,
Preston McKenzie

Hi
Hi Preston

Speaking for myself , I do have reservations about taking the Bible literally .

Let me give you one example - the Psalms speak very explicitly of 'unicorns'. Quite frankly I can't imagine 'unicorns' ever featuring in the Hebrew folk mythology during King David's time ( or even later.)

That said , having been born and baptized into the Christian Church , one does have an emotional link with the Bible - more so given that it epitomizes the faith of my fathers.

However that should not blind one to the fact that the Bible in the ultimate analysis comprises a set of canonical texts that were in fact put together by an early Christian 'Bishop' viz. Irenaeus. It's almost impossible to establish whether he did this 'arbitrarily' or moved by some 'divine impulse'.But what is rather clear is that several texts (apocrypha )were (deliberately or otherwise ) excluded from Irenaeus' canon.
