Obama's speech in Berlin hit all the right notes and with great
cadences. Obama is an American citizen, but also a citizen of the
world. Will enough Americans decide to join the rest of the planet in
November? We shall see....America has its global candidate. But is
America's electorate a globally minded one as well?

If it is, it means a rare break with history.

I'm observing with very keen attention.

Global candidate
I really don't understand people's fascination with Obama. Might be the cynic in me that is not easily impressed by carefully orchestrated appearances and speeches.. He has every right to run for the presidency but that does not mean he should. I was looking forward to Hillary Clinton as president.

However, having stated all this, I suppose Obama is the lesser of two evils.

Nope

Obama has captured people's imaginations like the Clintons did in 1992 and he will also become old news like they did in people's future imaginations.

I think Obama will make a far more interesting president than Hillary.

But in the end all presidential candidates must bow down to the real powers that be....nuff said

My vote is for Obama
Not only ‘cause he's black
America must make their choice

UH...

Obama is half-black, sorry mate it makes a huge difference. But Jesse Jackson made it easier for for Obama by running in 1984 and 1988.

Both are fine speakers and visionaries.

Yes it might have seemed I was playing a little on his parentage....The huge difference of course would then refer to racist people or have you something else in mind?

I was a keen supporter of Maggie in the UK for my own political reasons at that time...not only because she was a woman....

Not sure why you brought Jesse Jackson into it... the civil rights stuff? there were battles to free slaves long before that...

Maybe his altercation with Obama saying "He is acting as if he were white" springs to mind...? At least he never got near Obama's testicles or that fine speaking would have been a little higher pitched.

Of course the fine speaking needs to be backed up by fine actions but we will never know that until he is on-board..... I only hope he is half white and not a half-wit...

Even the mighty Jesse had a weakness..Karin Stanford...err and don't mention the Jews.

It's a big, big shift from the civil rights act in 1964 and LBJ to Obama and the Democratic convention soon to be in 2008 for the USA.

But The real people in power in the USA remain hidden and it matters a lot that they remain unaccountable...

Whatever apparent shift the president will still only be either a good mouthpiece or a bad mouthpiece for the unaccountables...

America will move forward "as instructed" and the Americans will be kept busy believing that they are voting in their Heir to World Power. Though more like choosing which Public Address System to buy into.

In which case why not put a Film Star in Charge preferably a good looking female one.... That way the women would be pleased about their equal rights and the men would have the ideal excuse to watch her on TV without upsetting the missus.

Whoops now I have reduced it to the Farce it appears to be......but to be honest when I try to work out that Expression on Bush's Face I wonder what the hell is going trough his mind.

I WANT to believe...secret governments, lies, hope, fairytales, etc.....
I've heard various theories, conservative, liberal, conspiracy theories, etc, regarding who really runs the government in the US and who really runs the world "behind the scenes"...and my own conclusions based on both conservative and extremist sides of thinking on this question is: that it is corporations, big corporations, a few, maybe less than a handful are the ones running the show behind everything, in the US and the world.

It may sound simplistic, but the bottom line is that what is behind everything is profit---PROFIT! PROFIT! And capitalism, free enterprise, global economy blah blah blah....is all about BIG CORPORATE INTERESTS. Every war, every deed, seemingly for "the good of all", and anything and everything that ever happens on a government or corporate level, is for the benefit of that tiny 1 percent at the top of the world pyramid that hold all the gold, and who truly rule and everything from governments to the all the rest of the bottom of the pyramid expendable peons who fall for all these great facades, slogan brainwashing, false ideals indoctrination via the various avenues of media and our early childhood education of false belief training, etc., -----

You don't have to go to a spiritual view of thinking to see that all is illusion, it's pretty obvious for those who are really paying close attention that illusion is blatant and outright arrogant right here and right now in this physical world of politics, governments, wars, and the "the unaccountables"...

Bush and his gang of inside("good job Brownie!"-during Hurricane Katrina) buddies who are the comic and most obvious when it comes to the really obvious "unaccountables"....

Has anyone beside me ever wondered what is Pres Bush's IQ anyway? I mean, since his daddy's money got his C student ass through Yale and Harvard, yet the dumb ass can barely speak a literate word or complete sentence without coming across like a moron...I suspect his IQ (his real IQ is somewhere around low average, and if it weren't for all the crutches from his henchmen criminals and corporate head like Rove and VP Cheney, he would would come across as a complete clown figure head. (Oops, could it be he is just that?) I mean, the guy (Bush) throughout his entire adult life failed at every business enterprise he ever ventured into, and his daddy had to bail him out. What is wrong with this picture that this bozo is now our president?

Look at the mess he's made of us. Could this be by "behind the scenes" master plan to bring down the US and its economy and standing in the world in order to help the corporate interests of our new globalist slave economy that subjects us to food poisoning, and lead poisoning by imported goods from Mexico and China, etc. Yet, no accountability, eh? Why? Because we owe our ass to China and Bush lives insides Mexican officials pockets and interests....blah blah blah...

and so it goes, way too much info to take in for the innocent average Joe in America who still believes that the Muslims terrorists "hate us for our freedom" and that universal health care is evil and the commies are behind it!

That is the mentality of the average voter, brainwashed, sloganized, ignorant and we wonder how idiots like Bush get into office of the president of the US? Haha! Somebody is definitely running the behind the scenes show because what's up front is a circus clown show that makes no sense.

Yet, it still amazes me how many seemingly intelligent people defend all these ILLUSIONS with all their heart and soul....just like they defend their religions which read like leprechaun fairy-tales in many cases, Mother-goose tales and some people's holy books are not that far apart in credibility....still, people love their fairy-tales, they do....from government to religion, illusion runs rampant.

And, to a certain extent I am guilty of the same. I too want to belief in fairy-tales. I want to believe in Obama for president of the US, and I to be believe that he will be bringing new hope and real solutions to the table. I want to believe that he is not another android controlled by the corporate greed monsters behind the scenes in the US and the world...

I want to believe.

Anyway, I read the response you left regarding my comment and am curious: What do you mean by interesting? Wouldn't it be better if the presidential candidate was effective? Interesting to me implies someone being strong armed into doing everything he/she wasn't voted into office for. That someone would become a laughingstock, ala Bush.

Oh, and my screenplay totally stalled. It's a fantasy, but I don't want it to be a silly Spiderman type of movie. I decided to take a break from it and started working on a story that popped into my head during one of nightly diabetic walks. Screenplay is on backburner but not out of mind.

Oh, well....
It's interesting. There are 150,000 US troops in Iraq, but when you factor in Blackwater's armed thugs and support. There are 250,000 armed Americans in Iraq. 4500 American troops have been killed and 30,000 wounded. But when you factor in Blackwater losses that's probably an additional 15,000 killed and wounded.

The US tax payer is footing the bill for all this, but no one knows how much BW is getting of those tax funds. Not even people in congress.

Notice that when Saddam fell massive looting occurred in all Iraqi cities, but it's nothing compared to the bigger looting that occurred when all of Iraq's heavy industry was privatized for foreign investors to gobble up.

The insurgency is making more and more sense.

The Iraq war starts to look very different with these new insights.

But then there is major looting going on at home.

Blackwater troops are being used in new Orleans and elsewhere in the US and the Fed is using tax payer money to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which are basically private banks like the Fed itself. FM alone constitutes the third biggest bank on the planet. Plus JP Morgan gets to buy Bear Sterns for a song with US tax payer money,

JP Morgan has big shares in the FED which is of course a private bank like JP

Kick me if I don't see a conspiracy here.

Now, about the shadow elites, with this I very much agree, but I want to believe in the power of our energy, since we live in a universe of thought (quantum/m-theory) concept...that perhaps, just perhaps, this time, there will be enough people creating and changing the vibrational fabric of this physical world in such a way that the Obama will truly break away from the chains of power behind the thrown. That is my dream, that is my mantra, those are the thoughts I am putting out there to create that change...via the advice of Dr.Quantum, aka Fred Alan Wolf, PhD--simplistic? (yes, he is the Dr.Layman version of Dr. Michu Kacku ) simplistic indeed, seemingly, but sometimes it isn't that complicated, just takes a whole lot more people involved than there are now in creating positive thought and creating change on a quantum level, which according to what I have learned and even read concerning the concepts of m-theory and Tibetan Buddhist beliefs, they go hand in hand. There are a couple of books on the subjects, one written by a theoretical physicist having a dialogue with a Tibetan Lama on this subject, but I read all this years ago and my memory fails me as to the titles, but I will try to research them when I get the chance. I am sure you know of what I am speaking and beyond.

Getting the lion ( or rather the Russian bear ) to lie down with the (Georgian lamb) , taming the ( Chinese ) dragon ( a feat beyond the powers of even St. George ) etc. , should not be all that insurmountable - to one who epitomizes the greatest and the very best of 'the greatest people ever' .And who , to paraphrase His own words ,might yet 'slow the (inexorable) rise of the oceans' .

The cynical comments of His critics notwithstanding - some of whom have caricatured His Berlin speech as some latter day Sermon on the Mount ( inclusive of the inevitable 'five loaves and two fishes ' trimmings)- as the putative Dear Leader of the Free World , He may yet end up confounding all His detractors.
