This poem is a poem I wrote when I was just entering High School.
This poem depicts a school of students just learning about
Independence. I wrote this in the most trying of times. Sometimes
as I looked around at classmates, I felt lost and small. I
began looking deeply into myself and wondering, who am I? Thus,
I began to write. It was through my writing, I found pieces of
who I was.

From the depths of a complex mind,
to the truths dying to be found.
A soul is searching for expression,
and a voice, siting quietly, makes not a sound.

A world is searching for answers,
on life and love and prayer.
A class of children eagerly listen,
for they're ready for you to share.

But you just can't find the words,
they're trapped deep, deep down.
Your soul is vibrant and lively,
but your self image fades into the background.

You realize there's a way to find yourself,
When you search with extra care.
For with each word you bravely write,
a piece of you is everywhere.
