Stagnation

We sit in front of the new reality tv
More juicy because itís real
Camera footage of beatings
Bomb attacks
Aftermaths
Celebrities' hysterics
And the rest

Watch in surprise
The stagnation of our sad nation
Alleged civilisation
With its dung heap social structure
The shit rolls downhill
As usual.

Street wolves roam in packs
Seeking easy targets to attack
And slap
To death
For a laugh
Ha ha.

------
In five hundred years time, most of us will be forgotten dust. But Hitler will still be remembered, God loves irony.

Genius Ogg....gifted with the art of discernment here indeed...
Excellent and perfectly articulated...yet, so simple. Great minimal poetry with maximum impact.

Here is a photo of me and my love, Joseph, wishing you a joyful summer! This pic was taken this July 4th 2008, we are both smugly smiling because we had a great day and public fireworks display with fantastic front row seats on private lake front fishing dock deck...oh yeah!

Hi both
Another reason for those smug grins is that you think you won the War of Independence. Fact is we let you win cos we felt sorry for you, heh! What the hell - happy July the 4th anyway (belated)- glad you had a great day. Thanks for comments Lena. Just lately, I've been writing a few lines to take a brief break from 'Fear'. Soon be back with more instalments though.
Take care
Paul

"The shit rolls downhill"
doesn't it just? don't get me started... like this, nicely condensed/ abridged rant here, admirably succinct. I get worked up about the things that piss me off and I go on and on and on and on... this is just long enough to be both pertinent and resonant... I've been away, got to catch up with Fear... good to read you again.

tis not FREEDOM for which we smug...looking forward to FEAR!!!
Paul aka Ogg, my dear fellow...

Our smug smiles in the above photo have NOTHING to do with any pride of our July 4th 2008 so called
"independence day" from England...in fact, I do believe that America is just as, if not much worse than England has ever been, in it's history of imperialism and hostile take overs of other people's lands and cultures as if we were somehow superior and the great bringers of "civilization" to all those inferior savages out there in the non-western/Judeo-Christian peoples that inhabit OUR God-given right to this world and the rape, ravaging, enslaving of all that stand in our way--Ha! So, Paul, that is my angry political speech for the day, thank you very much for listening, your applause is much appreciated...but, again thanks for the congrats for the celebration SMUG SMILE PIC just the same, Ogg!

Looking forward to my next visit here (hopefully soon, but I am not making any promises) and finding your continuation of your series, "FEAR"! Yeah!

Blessings and namaste to you dear fellow lover of words, writing, art, thinking, humor, and all the rest...

Have a great summer and here we are again, just in case your eyes are tired and you find it too hard to look back up again at our glorious smug smile pic...just don't want to make you work during summer, hee-hee! (oh, here is one pic of the family crazy celebration dancing on the private family deck on the dock, and here are also a pic of the fireworks too-I know some will say one fireworks display is as good as another, but I am a proud redundant writer and show-off of historical Lit.Org and I refuse to compromise my pseudo-narcissistic principles!)

eek!
Red alert! Incoming verbal artillery! Lena - Good God - when you go, you really go don't you? Well, anyway as long as we're buddies at the end of the rant that's all that matters. Btw, I'm trying my luck with an online company 'Lulu.com' and might be shortly publishing as a downloadable ebook a collection called 'Vampire Tales'. Have you heard of these guys before and should I watch my kaboose or are they kosher?
Take care
Paul

a real LULU....
Well, as far as kosher goes, Lulu is NOT a vanity press. I have read and heard that it is a whole new approach to publishing, and unlike vanity press publishers, Lulu doesn't charge authors upfront fees! (the true vanity presses charge fees, because that means they will publish anyone who can pay the fee, talent or not) but Lulu is choosy (that is like the traditional publishing houses with not upfront fees, they are picky as to whom they pick, they must see penitential for profit in your work since they cover the intial costs like tradition physical publishing houses. However their contracts limit your ability to take your download books and turn them into physical books that can be put on bookstore shelves. Also, seems that Lulu doesn't do any marketing, promotion, or advertising such as what is done through traditional physical publishers. And you must have mass marketing in order to be successful at selling books, E-book online download or physical. Advertising is very important, I used to be in advertising and marketing at a publishing house, so believe me I know what I am talking about on that score. Your work is publisher worthy material and I wish you much success and mu-la from your Lulu publishing endeavors with "VAMPIRE TALES"....

Yes, so you like our GLORIOUS pics that I have posted above here, do you? And my wordy political speeches, eh? Of course we are buddies, I only rant for those who are worthy of listening to my vast rage filled wisdom and smarty pants insights.

We dance, we dance, we dance the crazy dance of joy! Life is good! Smug is good. Lulu is kosher. Paul the Ogg can write.

Blessings and namaste to you, friend!

Lena
Thanks a million for that advice. I've published 'Vampire Tales' with thenm as e-book only for the princely sum of 50p (about 30 cents) mainly because there are no other costs involved and I agree with their policy of not interfering with an author's decision to sell his work at a particular price. One word of caution for anyone not in the US and wanting to sell on Lulu's website, they only pay out paper checks in USD. In the UK, I can't cash a check in USD without paying 10 GBP for the privilege. Our banks are greedy buggers so it's best to have a paypal account set up to receive any revenue that might come your way.
Thanks again Lena and best wishes to you and yours.

Vampire Tales at Amazon.com....yes...my marketing monkey says it is good.
I would suggest you get Lulu services to make your series available on Amazon.com (books) (I do believe they can and do that at Lulu) for I think that would be a great targeted market for book searchers that look by category oftentimes, vampire story lovers will find you book there. Just my advice as your best best for advertising and marketing through Lulu and your VAMPIRE series. Good-luck! I think on Amazon.com you will do well. That's my 2cents of online marketing advice for the week. Blessings;-)

You still haven't told me how gloriously wonderful my pics (posted above) are....? They truly are a blessing to behold are they not? Yes, it reminds me of Saturday Night Live's Mike Myers "Deiter" and the "Sprockets"...for "now it it the time that we shall dance.....do you want to kiss my monkey?" Look at my pics, dance, and adore us. Yes.

Lena
You need to be told how wonderful any pic of you is? I would have thought it went without saying that anything that had you in it would be more glorious than poor words could possible say. Thanks for the advice about Amazon - I didn't realise they were connected to Lulu - useful to know.
Take care
Paul

Lulu and Amazon
They are not connected. But, I do believe that Lulu is able to get your books put on Amazon.com for a fee. Lulu (though there are no upfront intial fees to first publish ebooks) does however charge marketing fees for various forms of marketing sources that they can do for you. I have heard (I may be wrong, but I think not) that Lulu ebooks can be put on Amazon.com. If so, then in my opinion that is your best vehicle for marketing distribution because Amazon.com is so well know, people search by category, people know they have download ebooks sections, etc.---so I suggest you look into that avenue, but do expect to pay for services rendered. I think in the long run Amazon.com has the greatest potential because of the massive amount of hits and searchers they get each day...now, Lulu on the other hand is not so well known, not by far. Just give it a shot if you've got a little to invest in Lulu's marketing services, it will be worth your while...otherwise you might not get enough exposure and without exposure, hits, searches, then selling and profit is simply not there. Just my opinion. You do as you see fit. If Lulu from UK does not offer marketing via Amazon.com, then if I were you I would check with Amazon.com myself, and see what you can work out with them and what they will accept, but I am pretty sure as I said before (for a fee) that Lulu will market and put your ebook out there in various ways, all you need do is ask and put up the bucks for those special services, though like I said before, UK Lulu rules may vary from US ones, and what I heard was about Lulu ebooks being able to to being put on Amazon.com ebooks in the Us. Much luck to you.

And yes, I was being silly and joking concerning the pics, I know you have a sense of humor, at least I hope you still have one. So, thanks for playing along....and adoring our pics above accordingly, hee-hee.

Hmmm
So you think I should expose myself more? Sorry - to be serious you're right of course but at the moment I really don't have the funds to use on advertising so I s'pose I'll just have to do the best I can. I won't build up my hopes for massive sales anyway. Learned from bitter experience that disappointment is inevitable. I'll be contenet with one or two sales and I can advertise on facebook and myspace. Got quite a few ex-university contacts on facebook.
Thanks for all your help.
Take care
