Sounds that relegate me to a Stone Age,
Horns, engines, people, and cars.
Levels of blood, rushing to my head,
Making my eyes pop, pumping that vein.
Pushing the pedal, wishing for that light.
The guy next door’s brain, signals the same,
Only in a different, adjacent lane.
Doesn’t he know his lane only turns right?
The penny will drop and he’ll soon be giving me that smile.
Horns, engines, people, and cars.
My foot if off the break, my foot is off the clutch,
I feel like the child who’s mother is walking away.
Not smiling or waving, just numb from the pain.
Staring through my time warp, unaware of my stalemate,
Dazed or daydreaming, which ever you choose.
Not reminiscing,
My brain is on pause,
Quite bizarre a moment, as thoughts run amuck.
Horns, engines, people, and cars.
Back to this juncture, reality flash pan: go!
The man next door’s penny has dropped.
Depends on my mood, which way I will sway,
Do I let him in? Or just look the other way?
At least one hour, till the mayhem will end.
Sad to think its my only meditation, silence or relief.
Each turn of a light,
My eyes cross the line, and make reality distant, benign.
Staring out the window watching life drizzle past,
People unaware of their time lapsing.
Standing still stop and stare.
Start walking straight through the line,
Past the cars, through to the other lane.
Before you know it,
You’ve done a full circle,
Or your simply nearer the end.
Horns, engines, people, and cars.
