anni-verse-ary

We lay still to imagine
Infinity in
Her Scalextrics loops

It looked just like
That house we papered

Toilet roll
Hanging
In Möbius elegance
Teasingly noosed.

I want to stay here forever,
I said
My right arm trapped
Underneath me

Your eyes more liquid
Than the molten cosmology
You preached numbly
With pink stoned lips.

One day
When we’re old,
I said
I will write love
With such violence

That we lift from the mould of
The moment

Perfected and shining
And endlessly young.

------
The human race, the only race I know where everybody loses.

Description etc...
Shannon, your descriptive talents are truly second-to-none! The title is also interesting. Like a fishing lure, it obliges the reader to bite. Excellent stuff!
