Constants

Long division
Is for fetishists.

Give me the
Sum total of
Might have been,
In exchange
For nightmares,
So I can
Sleep numb tonight
And forgive tomorrow.

Because
Round numbers
Are cathartic,
But half of nothing will do.

A fair/unfair trade-off
If I had to choose between the torture of my souls endless yearnings and these visions that torture me in the night...give me the endless yearnings so that I may rest and once again be dead...for at least then will I find the nothingness that is better than this.

I'm sorry your hurting dear.

Long division
always admire yours “quickies”, glad you chose to bring this one back...

yeah, you said it. any kind of division hurts, protracted is worst... worse than even subtraction, with is fraught with pain too...

sometimes life feels like that… a process of long division… sometimes we settle for fractions and holes, when all else is absent…

will return to this. see much here, much more than my porridge brain can sift right now… but what I feel is more “lost” than “loss”, a feeling of never having been found… bleak, but beautifully expressed.

constant thanks
Tammy,
like La'Shae, I think you have an innate ability to write comments that sound like poetry. You should consider turning the idea into one.

Shannon,
you're right, of course, all division is fraught with heartache. Love the settling for holes line. Inspired me to start writing a poem thus titled, "Eyes on the hole."

Terence,
good to read you on comments again. I haven't been commenting much 'cos everytime I read a poem, my addled brain shuts down. Soon as I can see right, I'll comment again.

And Tammy again,
you're the first woman I've ever known get off on comic speak. Funny.

Thank you one and all. Truly inspiring friends you are.

Good Gosh Daddy!!!!
Des...ain't you learned me by now? (well...maybe not..I'm still learnin' me) Ok then ain't you learned ENOUGH about me by now to know that there ain't much that Dudd'nt turn me on! The REALLY scary thing is that it seems with everyday I'M!!!... learning more about what turns me on....and at my age?...might be a bit more than my old heart can handle! Funny!

Thanks for the poetry comment...comment. Never thought of it that way. I think maybe I will try to expand on it.
