My city
Is a galaxy of lights,
That burns through the heavy darkness,
Shining through with
Colors that
Leap out before my eyes.

I see streams of red,
Valleys of green and
Mountains of blue.

The whites direct me,
The blues surround me,
The reds entice me,
As I follow them with
Pangs of passion,
Into some strange building
To meet a lady I don't know
Where I will meet my fate...
well before,
I see light.

Imagism
This poem reads like Imagism...I had a picture in my head of an illuminated city at midnight as I read. It reminds me of Ezra Pound's "A Station in the Metro": Every time it comes to mind, I see a blossoming tree wet with rain.
