Practically all my life I have heard that most people tend to reveal or disclose secrets or pent up emotions when they become intoxicated. For they would not openly disclose certain revelations had they not been in a slightly inebriated state. It´s almost as if the alcohol acts as a sort of silent motivator or courage inducer.

And as the Primary section of this presidential elections draws to a close this coming week, one might also wonder if this unique elections year has a way of bringing out strange, demeaning and effective comments from certain individuals.
Here are just a few of those comments we have so far. Earlier on the campaign trail, Geraldine Ferraro resigned from the Clinton wagon when it was noted that she said: ´…Senator Obama would not be where he is if he were a white male.´
From the Obama camp, we have Samantha Power, an Obama advisor, who also resigned from the Obama wagon after she called Hillary a ´monster.´ Then there was the Jeremiah Wright issue or the rather harsh comparison/contrast of Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
None of the present candidates it seemed, was left out. For Senator John McCain recently cancelled his John Hagee endorsement after it was noted that well known Televangelist, Mr. Hagee harshly criticized a few groups of people which included referring to the Catholic Church as a ´whore.´
And most recently we have Reverend Michael Pfleger´s mockery of Hillary Clinton. Apparently Reverend Pfleger is or was a long time friend of Senator Obama.
All of the mentioned comments might make one wonder if being under the influence of elections fever has a way of making certain persons utter things they would not otherwise say.
Or has it given those who made such comments a reason or excuse to vent their anger just like the consumption of too much alcohol can enable one to say things he/she would not ordinarily say had he/she not been intoxicated.
Just a thought.
