Author's Note:
First complete poem I have written in weeks. Well, first one I liked anyway. Wrote it in one quick, ten minute sprint. Not sure it's finished though. If interested, the first two fractals poems can be read by following the links at the bottom.

Everything and nothing (Fractals three)
F.R. Toscano

I live my life
Waiting for midnight.
It brings hope to my door
With pale kindness:
Glassy eyed man on the moon
Is divine proportion,
Defined by arbitrary constants
That leave ghostlike footprints
On my tongue.

I am beautiful.

Silence is a named saint.
It is me waiting for something
Right and proper
To clip my wings.
I am left standing vitruvian,
Devil at my side.
His supposed fidelity is
A pebble bled dry.
It is the first and
Last breath in God’s ear.

“This will be undone,”
He says,
Hand on my chest.
But I am not scared;

I am beautiful.

You are Beautiful
"I am beautiful" A smile of admiration came over my face reading these words. Yes, you are beautiful.

"Silence is a named saint" Such a lovely poetic expression.

"His supposed fidelity is A pebble bled dry" Des you really know how to form some really good sentences.

"But I am not scared...I am beautiful" I can see you now sitting in a comfortable chair; a lamp at your side; pen and paper in hand and your eyes that smile from the secret you hold within. Believing you are beautiful...

And as I just stated...yes you are.

Really, really good
xoxo

I am beautiful. You are beautiful. We're all beautiful.
I've actually used the beautiful line before in a poem titled "I am almost beautiful." Wrote it about someone who wanted what I wanted but ultimately decided to stay married. And not to me.

I meant the line to sound more spiritual than narcissistic. But, as I have stated several times, poems are about projecting. The reader should get out of it whatever they feel I put into it. That's why I have the Francis Ponge quote as my signature.

If Lucie were here she'd agree...I think. She's such a good teacher. Can't wait for you to "meet" her.

Thanks for looking in.

"Silence is a named saint"

for a poem written in a ten minute sprint this is incredible... no, scrap that, this is incredible full stop. I cannot decide which quality is being exhibited here, heroism or stoicism, or which is more amazing to me… the jury’s still out on this one, but what I do thing is: …

poet-self stands on the threshold of something, centred and utterly self-sufficient, allowing cosmos to pass through him… there is fantastic loneliness there, but also a sense of calm, of readying self for the coming storm, for any storm that might come…

wrote a poem once that ended with the line “beauty’s a form of loneliness…” reminded me of that, but better expressed… will have to look it out… thanks for this start to my day, thoughtful, meditative and of course beautiful…

Thanks Shanahan
Think we're all lonely in the end. And I do feel like I am on the cusp of...something. Not sure how vast or insignificant, but it's something.

Think, no, I know I have learned alot in the almost ten months since meeting you. I would daresay I have perhaps become a better writer and not just 'cos I feel I have you to compete with, but because you lead by example.

I've come to the conclusion that you are wise beyond your years. So, ummm, how old are you?

Thanks for dropping by. Sorry I wasn't home to offer tea and biscuits.

introspective enlightenment
This to me was a meditation, a introspective view into the higher wider vision of self beyond the physical, not the least narcissistic. I loved this. Yes, you are beautiful. Blessings to you and yours;-)

everything and nothing
I was just looking around and ran across this comment I overlooked. Thank you Lena.

What I have been trying to do with this and the others is exactly what you wrote: Meditating self to something higher. There has to be more than just patting self on back and then wondering why no one else has also done so.

We all get where we're going on different roads, but at least we get there.
