Among the stars awaited our meeting,
That soon fulfilled with a momentous kiss
Our love shamed Cupid’s zest under night’s wing
And perfectèd with vows of marriage bliss
Clocks spin backwards when I see your face,
Possessed by the brilliance of shining sun.
My heart increases to a rapid pace –
And wretchèd reality is undone.
Your visage compels my love and suspense:
A divine craft that jealous Venus quips.
Mesmerizing eyes express thoughts intense
That sculpt the motion of your ruby lips.
O my beloved bride, simple and pure,
Only your sweet presence is my heart’s cure.

This was for an english assignment- we had to write a sonnet. When I wrote this I was thinking of how Romeo would view Juliet.. This is my first attempt at a sonnet, so please review so that I may get a greater understanding of this area.
thanks :)
