Tears burning at my eyes as I hear
Words from one so near
To he who had my heart
And I am torn apart
His eyes said yes, but his words said no
With only the slightest clue to my true woe
My biggest fear is a reality
Though now it seems no more than a formality
For my heart to shatter and leave the shards heavy in my chest
For the night tonight will be full of unrest
Every toss and turn stabbing and tearing
Though none of those who matter are truly caring
They tell me all will be well
My heart will grow and swell
But my heart shall wither and hide
Between my barricades where it keeps company with my shattered pride
There it will rest, growing ever harder
How the greatest pain is brought through ardor
There it will remind me what feeling does to us all
It makes us giants then makes us fall
