a neon signpost spinning in a crown of mirrors
directs me to where my star ravished reflection shimmers,
the sun and moon blaze in both of his eyes
his heart beats like a neon lamp in the dark and empty skies.

So, our heart is the center of our universe

While reading this, for the third time, I'm struck with how it resembles the visual distractions too many neon flashes on a busy street create. Each one vying for attention and conflicting with another in their individual agendas of marketing. This poem doesn't work for me because of it.

Cenetr of Atraction
Center of attraction

Reminds me of the days disco’s took over from live bands in the dance halls.

With the live groups I think more attention was focused on the band or ones dancing partner… With the disco it seems to be all Me Me Me look at how good I am how well I dance how rude I can be how pissed I can get… shine the light on me I am your center of attention

Err well hardly…did you not notice the 500+ people trying to do the same thing and wow don’t even try to talk over that bloody din….. I would term it a money harvesting machine of light and noise.

I think Pen has got a point and I have written a distraction version that drivers suffer. It’s a fact that people can concentrate on only a couple of items at the same time… well apart from housewives who are able to wash cook sew clean put their make up on and sweep the floor if you stick a broom somewhere……

a neon signpost spinning like a crown of mirrors
directs me to where my trucks ravished reflection shimmers,
the sun and moon blaze in both of my eyes
In a heart beat the neon lamp told my steering lies.
