Everyone knows where they were
On that day that is burned into our memories
During the longest moments of our lives
When no one had a worry
Then, the shock of a generation
The fear that lasts to this day
The day those towering giants were felled
No one will ever say
They saw it coming
Two plus two makes four
Two towers tow planes
Far too many lives to be wasted for
Any reason, any cause
Innocents who didn’t know until it was too late
With all our power
We could do nothing on that fateful date
With all our strength
In the country we all call home
Nothing could stop them
Now, memories roam
Rampant in our hearts until we die
Taking with us what remains of these lost
2996 dead in a single day
Do not remember this day with frost
In your hearts and minds
Remind yourself
That this is a day of death
For so many
2001 September eleventh
