I took politics off my mind today. There were no thoughts about Obamamania, no image of that Obama girl ad in my head. No McCain girl ad either or no Jack Nicholson Hillary ad.
It was just me and Mother Nature on a cool Spring day enjoying the environs with no politics on the mind. Not even an entire minute of my time was spent thinking about the 2.5 million dollars Elton John raised for Senator Hillary Clinton.
Also I did not look at any of the cable news networks. So there was no fast moving story in my head of how well Senator Obama was doing in the polls and who else might endorse him next. And there were no thoughts of Superdelegates, and Jeffery Wright.
There were nothing to cloud the mind like, if male dominated societies such as Pakistan or India could have women leaders, (Bhutto and Gandhi) why would such a progressive, society such as America have a problem with the notion of having a woman leader.
Nor was there any lingering thought of who might take a better 3 AM emergency telephone call. The word change did not enter my thought processes either, and if that did not make it there, neither did such issues as: the state of the economy, or the four thousand plus soldiers who died on the battlefields of Iraq and the loss their loved ones have suffered.
And there was no time spent dwelling on how long soldiers should stay in Iraq. For I took politics off my mind today, it was just me and Mother Nature on a cool Spring day.
