good!
I checked on the last post you made prior to this one and discovered it's been a few months since you've submitted anything. I'll convince myself that this is an effort to get back to writing and therefore it's GOOD!

dead?
Don't buy it. Acknowledging being dead inside is a bit of an oxymoron. If you truly were dead, you wouldn't know to write this poem.
Assuming it's autobiographical, of course...
To me this poem reads like loss of faith. So a spiritual death would make more sense.
Regardless, I enjoyed it.

Death of love?
Loss of a loved one can leave us with a feeling of death. Death of the heart, faith in relationships or even death of belief in a higher power.
But what ever it is that strips us of our false sense of reality/security is unwittingly providing us with new ground with which to build on.
That is the perfect opportunity to build a revised belief system that can only improve our lives.
All of life is merely lessons on growing towards a higher awareness-a higher existence.
I went backwards a few days in reading and found your short, sweet little, slap in the face from life, poem.
Hope you feel better now than then.
