Dancing Angels
BY Tammy Hendrix

Sweet little souls whom come from afar.
Tiny dancing angels, pure love fills their hearts.

So bold and so curious, so innocent, so true.
Best know the answer, endless questions they'll ask you.

So smart and so funny, bright smiles we adore.
Best save all your pennies that's what tiny palms are for.

With beautiful locks of red, black, blonde and brown.
Some short, some long, some worn like a crown.

Some tiny, some meek, even some a little tall
All with giant hearts, that's what's best most of all.

With big starry eyes, oh how they do dream.
Transforming so much by imaginary means.

They jump towards the sky, they fall to the ground.
They'll get close to your ear and whisper sweet sounds.

Dance sweet child dance-the world is all yours.
Dance angel dance.
Teaching love's what your here for.

"Transforming so much by imaginary means."
I think that's my favourite line here, Tammy. I can tell this comes from the heart and how much you mean it... "unconditional" is one of my favourite words in the English language. children love unconditionally, and deserve the same in return. thanks for the sweetness of this.

reasonable rhyme
Hello Tammy. I'm one of those poets/readers who love rhyme. Honestly! It's such a thrill to read poems where the author has taken pains to make it flow easily and make it seem almost a natural progression rather than fumbling from one line to the next in a struggle of jarring word jumbles. Which category does this poem fit into? I'll let you figure it out.

Thanks Auld
Yea, that's my favorite too. This piece was from a scribbled paper that I used to write title ideas on. That's usually how my pieces come to me, title first. But if the words don't start flowing right after the title, I write it down (title) and when I'm "ready?", I go back to it.

I was going through the many papers of scribbled titles and this one jumped right out. Then, off to the races!

I love it when that happens!

Thanks so much for all your kind and constructive words. I need more readers like you that aren't afraid to put their two cents in.

Thank you Penelope
Well, actually that's pretty much what happens. As I stated in my response to AuldMiseryGuts, (above), the title comes first. However I have learned, through many failed attempts, to let it go. I use to sit and over analyze again and again or force words that just never fit. The results were ALWAYS tragic. So after repeated self-torture I got so frustrated I just stopped. Then I noticed how ideas would pop into my head and I immediately started writing words to that related title. Some would re-emerge months later even. I also learned not to procrastinate. I loose all thoughts when I do.

So, Am I, the uneducated in the proper procedures of writing, getting a writing lesson? I could use all the advice I can get!

What category? hmmmmmmmmm, children's literature I would imagine. Is that right?

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.

Sincerely,
Tammy

Angels we have heard on high
This reminded me of the song "Butterfly kisses." Not the words. Just the feeling behind it.

There is a warmth to it that is infectious. I am sitting here, Sunday morning - with cold feet - and this poem made me forget that for the duration of the read.

Nice.

Gotta go put on socks now...

Cold Feet
Hey,
pour baby, what you need is a brunet with tiny, but strong, hands to give you a good foot rub! Well, maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea after all. With the, ain't getting any situation you and Auld joke about your foot rub might be interrupted for something that feels much better.

Yea it's a lazy Sunday around here too. Jessica has four guest for the weekend. That's typical around here. Just finished cooking sour chiken and rice. Man never made that much before. Every time my niece and nephew stay, (every other weekend), I half to fix it, they love it. It's a good thing I love to cook.

I'm glad I could warm you up,even if it was just your feet!

Later dude!!!!!
Tammy

Am listening to R.E.M. Their song "Everybody Hurts" is so beautiful. I put my lover on my profile on myspace. Beethoven man!!!! It's Moonlight Sonata and it is absolutely breath taking. I also figured out how to download pictures so gonna be adding them soon too. I'm starting to get the hang of this internet thing

Perfect view
Tammy,

It reminds me of the "perfect world" that children seem to possess. Oh how great are the little ones before they learn of the many corruptions that find their way into humans as we age. Wish it could always be "right" as you so well described. Here's to hoping.

BOWz
Maybe a little late but I just noticed your comment, sorry.

Would it not be a wonderful world if we could all learn to live as children do.

Corruption is a powerful force indeed.

Thank you for your time
