Our father who art in heaven
Never mind the rest
Tell me in simple words...
Jesus died for my sins
But by the rules
Of whose book?
God struck the wrongdoers
Down with lightning
But why have I not been
Punished for what I've done?
You are described as wrathful,
But how can you be
Filled with such hate
If you have created
Such beauty?
Trees and fields
Lakes, oceans, mountains,
The clouds, the sky,
The warm sun
And the watchful moon?
Such a thing as love?

Why is it I feel
Loved and protected
When I look to you

I like the way you probe the existence of a divine figure, then note its hypocrisy; then you say that the hypocrisy doesn't get in the way of the divine figure still having an effect on you.
