Although I never got into the habit of placing American Idol on my short list of television shows to watch, not even when people all over seemed to have a strong case of Sanjaya fever, I do pause and take notice when really talented contestants emerge as winners.

And one such person who impresses with her style and versatile talent is Carrie Underwood. At the youthful age of twenty five, this performer has done versions of Eagles’ classics such as: Desperado at the ’07 Grammy Awards and has even sang a version of the Randy Travis hit ‘I Told You So’ for her latest cd: Carnival Ride.

Also belting out hits of her own such as: Before He Cheats, Carrie Underwood will make another mark in her musical career come May 10th 2008. For on this day, she will become an official member of the Opry.

A place where talented and some of the best country performers have also been members. And just like they deserve their spot in the place where the top names in country music belong, so does Carrie Underwood.

For someone with this much talent does not go too long without being noticed by others.
