A story of mine titled "The Short Story" was accepted for the current edition of the online journal Exquisite Corpse. I submiited it almost two years ago and had forgotten about until I received word that it was to be published. Exquisite Corpse is located in New Orleans and like almost everyone else its business was disrupted by Katrina. This is the first issue since the storm.

Read it
Like it a bunch. It is so disjointed even though the theme is solid. It is a real shapshot of a person's life, or the lives of a few people connected to that person, from one person's perspective. It jumps around in just the right places to span a number of years and all the while the first lines

my father was a minor beat poet
he spent his entire adult life
on the head of a needle
around the corner from city lights

is a mirror image of the last lines about Richard committin suicide -- it closes the loop there and exposes the writers' lives. How both had an impact on your own.

Very well done.

Hello Johnjohndoe
Thought I'd look you up to see if you had given up on this screwed-up-for-so-long place. Hope not.

You've been very good to me. Your so appreciated.

Am very happy to read of your publication. I will go to it now and read. How did that turn out?

Congrats to JD
Hey, I went and read it at the Corpse. I think I remember that one. Nicely Done. It was like looking over your shoulder as you looked through an old album. A staccato monologue of memories. Powerful. I hope you are doing well. -Philo
